As a member of the Guard, your primary area of responsibility is your home state. In times of need, either the governor or the president has the authority to mobilize Guard units swiftly. Most Guard Soldiers reside in their communities, maintaining close ties with family and friends while pursuing civilian careers. Service commitments typically include one reserve drill weekend per month, with a two-week Annual Training period scheduled annually.
